David
Stead "my studio is just behind the gallery
so to me they feel The main thrust of my work over the last
few years has Typically I will produce several drawings of a subject and return to the studio to make the painting; work often going through many stages before arriving at what may or may not be its final state. I tend to work with people and places I
know well and getting to know a subject can only be achieved by constantly
revisiting and exploring. Some themes such as the 'Ingleborough' or
'Mathew' series have occasioned as many as fifty or even a hundred
images". |
