TITLE Evening Cathedral

A couple of miles outside, and to the west of Ripon the land begins to rise towards the pennines and here you can look back towards the city. If the evening¬†light is wrong the cathedral is all but invisible but if it is right it catches the west front of the cathedral and it stands out like a precious stone. It’s always tempting to paint the cathedral from a closer vantage point but I like it set in its landscape.
