The next important crossing over the river Ure West of Ripon is at the beautiful village of West Tanfield. The river here has begun to slow after its hectic tumble through Wensleydale on its way to the Humber Estuary and the sea. The river here host one of the oldest fly fishing clubs in the country – established in 1892 by the jounalist, writer and consumate Grayling fisherman Max Walbran. Sadly Max drowned in the river in 1909 and a splendid gravestone depicting rods, fish and a creal was erected in his honour in the village churchyard.
An original oil painting by David Stead, now available as a beautiful limited edition print on deep profile, archival quality canvas. The print is limited to an edition of only 150 and comes with a certificate of authentication
Canvas Print
Dimensions: 97 × 97 cm
Description: Our signed, limited edition canvas prints are produced using only Fine Art Trade Guild approved materials, ensuring a display life in excess of 85 years. We use only the best quality, award winning archival canvas which is OBA FREE, eliminating yellowing. Our canvas is hand-stretched onto 44mm exhibition, laminated pine stretcher bars, kiln dried to 8% or less moisture content to minimise warping of the frame. To enhance your canvas print, we apply a tape to the reverse to hide the visibility of the staples used, which also protects your walls from being scratched. Two coats of varnish are applied to further protect the print from scratches and finger marks. All our canvases are supplied with a hanging kit ready to display, as soon as you receive it. We recommend your canvas should be displayed out of direct sunlight and away from excess heat.
